Manufactured 14th October 1960 ( confirmed by Alfa Romeo Archive ) Sold to Durban South Africa in December 1961.

The car was completely rust free from new, and no rust repair at all was necessary to body or chassis. The whole shell was stripped manually to bare metal, including underside. It was then painted by one of the finest vehicle refinishers in the country, Sportwagen (the leading Porsche 356 specialists) The door and other gaps on the car are perfect.

During the restoration every mechanical part of the car was either overhauled or renewed. All new brakes - master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes etc.. Gearbox rebuilt with new synchromesh rings, bearings and seals. Suspension overhauled, with new Koni shock absorbers. Recently, new stainless steel petrol tank and Facet fuel pump were fitted. Radiator re-cored. New wiring loom in correct original colours.

Interior re-trimmed in correct pattern Pininfarina black vinyl.

The engine AR000120*01594* is an original Veloce unit, but of the higher horsepower specification as fitted to the SS and SZ. Less than 3000 miles ago it was completely rebuilt by Dick Van Rijn, in the Netherlands. He is a renowned engine builder and prepares engines for Strada e Corsa in Haarlem. The engine was prepared to standard specification, with new pistons and liners, new valves, valve guides, crank re-ground, all new bearings and seals etc.. Carburettors rebuilt. New exhaust manifold and exhaust system.

For practicality it is fitted with a 5-speed Giulia gearbox.

This is an exceptional car and quite unique in view of its complete lack of rust repair.

The car has been in my ownership for almost 20 years.
