Comment 1: @alfadoc: That SS had decomposed into the dirt. Claus Menzel sold it’s oily bits to me before the millennium to buy a lownose SS project, a more worthy candidate back then. Block #01312 needed align honing, possibly low oil or no water was the reason that SS was left to rot. Claus was forced by neighbors to scrap it. I didn’t get its VIN. Many Alfa owners in the US back then were not kind to their cars likely because they couldn’t afford more cilindri. I transplanted its organs into my S1-750B Sprint to drive a more robust vintage Alfa they could easily have produced through 1965. It’s original oily bits are preserved and the tunnel case transmission is rebuilt for posterity and back-up for my 750F Spider.
