This Giulia SS rolled off the production line on 30th October 1963 and was subsequently delivered to the supplying dealer on 6th November 1963 in Paris. It was first registered in the name of its original owner on 8th December 1963 – just in time for Christmas! According to the accompanying Certificate of Origin, this Giulia SS was originally specified in the spectacular Bianco over the less visible Blu hide – exactly the specification in which the car is presented today. The car remained in France its entire life, passing through the hands of a handful of owners in the Paris region and eventually to Nouvelles-Aquitaine, before being acquired by the current Dutch custodian in 2018.

The car is believed to have remained in a completely unrestored condition until around 2010, when it underwent a full and well-documented restoration in France. Images of the car’s condition prior to restoration are present in the history file. However, although the current Dutch custodian purchased it in a “fully restored” condition (and for a price to match), after a short while of ownership he found that the car was simply not up to the exacting standards he holds all his cars to. The bodywork restoration, in particular, was reportedly substandard. This meant there was no option but to take the car to marque experts and undertake a complete, no-cost, bare-metal restoration lasting around three years in 2019. Clearly, nothing was left to chance and the entire car was brought back to concours standard, also redoing the technical aspects of the car to the same high standard.

All images of this, as well as the 'original' French restoration, are archived and available upon request. Needless to say, undertaking a restoration after purchasing a 'restored' car is an economically unviable undertaking. However, the gentlemen in question were determined to stick to their 'best or nothing' approach, which is evident in the form the car is presented in today. Nothing short of marvellous.

Today, the car has only covered 1,000 km since restoration (usually the kilometres accumulated after restoration) and is presented in simply immaculate condition. Due to the vastness of the owners' collection, the Giulia is simply not used enough, leading the client to the painful decision to pass it on to a new owner and have us handle the sale.

Today, the Giulia SS is complete with all accessories including jack, spare wheel and the original French owners manual (!). A dedicated history file containing numerous invoices and restoration images is also present. Currently, the SS is registered in the Netherlands under the number "DZ-87-84" and can be supplied with the correct Dutch export documents to be easily registered anywhere in the world. It is located in a discreet and secluded location in the direct vicinity of Maastricht, where it is immediately ready for inspection.

Bite size:

This is probably the best Giulia Sprint Speciale currently on sale. A real all-rounder: ready for tasteful weekend getaways, eligible for the biggest events and with its recent restoration quality - also ready for the concours lawn!
