My Alfa, my cunundrum...sell or restore?.This car is a bit of a time capsule. I bought this nice little Alfa from Gilmore Car Museum appx 5 years ago with the intentions of doing a drive it/ restore it restoration. The only driving we did with the car was around the driveway and a few dirt roads. The brakes were bad from 25+ years of storage at the museum.I never got to the project and I never even transferred the title into my name...It is mine, title, bill of sale and all paper work. The title for the alfa says it's a 1957 but the info I have found concerning the numbers says it may be a 1958.I have it listed as a 1958. I have posted appx 100 pix, from the day I picked it up to today in my shop. Please look at them all. The paint is flaking off, it was a lacquer repaint. The metal under neath it's shiny bright and clean...no bondo that I have seen. The rust is absolutely minimal. I point to it with my finger and show it at the driver front floorboard under the car. It has a sheet rivited to the floor but the rust is appx 1 inch by 3 inches...thats it in total. A super easy repair.Look at all the pix they tell the story. The body is straight with but a few dings. the car is 97% complete and 95 % correct. The carbs are 40 DCOE2 off a 101 series veloce. I do not have the air box. This car runs well no knocks or smoke, but needs fresh gas, the trans has the alfa weak 2nd sync but shifts well. the brakes as mentioned need rebuilt. The top is old and in poor shape, the tonneau needs fitting. It has the Tudor windscreen washers and ashtray. Koni shocks,155x15 Pirelli Cinturato's/ Borrani wheels. Nardi 16 inch flat no dish wood wheel plus original mint wheel. It has the still working Bendix fuel pump, but an aftermarket pump installed. The tax holder, original jack and lug wrench..etc There is lots to say, but you get the idea...it is a great little car to put back into use as thats where it belongs, not locked up in a shop or museum or barn. All items in the photos for the car go with the car. I will add more as I think of it. BTW. I have no idea what the real mileage is..but thats what shows on the clock. All lights and flashers work as see in the pix, the wipers and heater did work as I recall but not at the moment, a low priority now. Both horns work.It does have the correct battery tray and mat...I put it in and it's in one of the photos. I have decide to put this alfa out there and see what happens...enjoy the photos and ask and I will try to answer. for some reason the link does not work does not show all the photos..I am not sure what to do ..OK try this.

I reserve the right to end this auction early if misshapes should happen.....thanks. The photos are in no particular order, I am just glad I got them on. The photos at the beginning of the auction are as I brought it home 5 years ago the photos in the shop are as now....the car had bad paint then and now, thats why it is in the shop...for paint if I keep it.

at photo # 48, that is not rust, it is a dead leaf caught in a cob web. It is rock solid there, it can be seen where I have scraped away some under coating in areas to show the solidity of the car. The paint was purposely flaked off on the car to show the metal underneath.. It was hairline cracks that I lifted up and off to reveal. Also if I can find the license plate bracket I will include it....no promises.. This Alfa with some paint blending and brake work could be on the road as a respectable driver in a weekend. The tires are good.

I have added two more photos of the alfa, one showing more paint cracks by the hood and another showing the mechanical condition of the brakes, which is good, it is the MC hydrulics that need rebuilding.

it's been questioned if some of the rubber mats were missing....nope all there, I just posted the rest of the mats...not good shape but they are there as are the rest, trunk, behind the seat...etc, please look at all photos. My alfa even has rubber parts rarely seen now days such as the rubber hood stops at the back of the hood that go over the hood hinge pin nuts, and the registration holder. I posted a close up photo of them. I even have the white seam trim and the chrome finishers that go at the back under the bumper for the valance spot weld seam. I hope this helps answer some of the questions.
