The Alfa Romeo Giulietta is a real masterpiece that married bright and spritely mechanicals to an elegant and sporty, lightweight body. Unveiled in 1954, the spider version of the Giulietta followed the coupé version one year later, featuring Pininfarina bodywork. To satisfy sporting clients, Alfa then unveiled the Veloce version with a 80bhp engine, with two carburetors, and for which max power went up to 90bhp in 1959. Production of this exclusive model did not even get to 3000 units, making it a rather rare car. From the archives of Alfa Romeo, this car left the factory on November 22, 1960 and was sold on September 2 to the Renault distribution system. It actually dates from the time when Alfa Romeo and Renault had signed distribution agreements, with Renault taking the responsibility of distributing the Alfa range in France. This Giulietta Spider Veloce was always in France, till the current owner acquired it, when it was still in a very good state of preservation. Wishing to have a perfect car, he entrusted the workshops of Mahul Classic for a repaint (a bill of € 5,000 is included in the file), done at specialists ODS, so the presentation today is of a very good quality. Red in colour - which is its original colour - this attractive convertible features spotless black leather upholstery and an antique radio. The black top and tonneau cover have been redone too, and the car comes with a five-speed box, which allows for a more comfortable drive on longer trips. The engine, carrying no number, has probably been replaced. In a beautiful condition, this version still retains its elegant small tail lamps. This rare and desirable version of the Veloce will surely seduce lovers of the Alfa brand.
